About

Dalmatian Rescue of Puget Sound is a network of people who are passionate about Dalmatians.  Our mission is to get them out of shelters where they run the risk of being euthanized.  We work with shelters and rescue groups, not just in the Pacific Northwest, but around the country.   We bring them into our homes, and give them the loving care they deserve.  When we can’t take them into our homes, we look for people who can.  We look for ways to get them needed medical care, even if it means we pay for it ourselves.  We carefully screen our adoptive homes, seeking a home that is a good match for both the dog and the family, in an effort to make it it a lifetime home.  We also educate the public about Dalmatians.

Our original plan was to help Dalmatians in the Seattle area, but the need is so great throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho that we have extended our reach to the entire Pacific Northwest.  We  help with dogs from California, and other parts of the country when we can.

Dalmatian Rescue of Puget Sound is  a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, registered with the State of Washington and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service.  Donations made to Dalmatian Rescue of Puget Sound are tax deductible.  Our EIN is 27-1632985.

We do our best to help every Dalmatian in need, but we give the highest priority to Dalmatians that are in shelters that have a high rate of euthanasia.  In certain cases, we may take dogs from no-kill shelters if they are having trouble adjusting to shelter life.  We only take owner surrenders when a foster home is available and the only other alternative is to surrender the dog to a shelter where it may be killed.  If you are looking to re-home your Dalmatian, we can assist you with a listing on our web site, and with screening applicants. To request our assistance in rehoming your Dalmatian, please visit our rehoming page, and fill out the form.

We are always looking for people who are willing to foster a Dalmatian, but we have plenty of volunteer opportunities for people who want to help, but can’t take a dog into their home.  If you would like to help us give these beautiful creatures a chance for a new life, please visit our foster page .
