Smoky — adopted

Update 9/26/2011:  Smokey’s time in his new home was much too brief.  Shortly after arrival he was diagnosed with kidney disease.  He left us on 9/25/2011, in the arms of his loving owner.  We mourn his passing and send our best wishes to those who loved him.

This big bundle of love is Smoky, an 82 pound neutered male Dalmatian.  Smoky is just a big, happy guy.  He is great with children, and so gentle that the cat in his foster home curled up next to him to sleep the night he arrived.

Smoky’s family was sad to give him up, but they were moving to an apartment, and felt that Smoky needed to be somewhere with a yard.  Smoky is a bright guy, and very food motivated.  He figured out how to use the doggy door within minutes of arriving at his foster home.

Smoky is a stone former.  He is not having problems at the moment, but he will need to be monitored, and should be fed a diet that is low in purines.  Smoky lost the use of one eye a few years ago, when it was scratched by another dog.

Smoky is currently in a foster home in Lakewood, Washington. He is neutered, and current on his vaccinations. We think that Smoky would make an amazing family pet.  If you have an amazing family for Smoky to join, please fill out the adoption inquiry form.
